"Raise your voice to defend your faith" Religious freedom symposium held in Tokyo

「信教の自由と基本的人権を考えるシンポジウム」（主催・西東京平和大使協議会）が８日、東京都武蔵野市で開かれ、世界平和統一家庭連合（旧統一教会、家庭連合）の信者を中心に約１００人が参加した。文部科学省が家庭連合の解散命令を東京地裁に請求したことについて、２世信者で家庭連合職員の横川洋介氏（46）は、「（信者にとって）教会は信仰そのものでありアイデンティティー」と強調した上で、「後代のために信仰を守る声を上げていこう」と呼び掛けた。
茨城県取手市議の細谷典男氏は、「家庭連合を巡る問題はもはや政治闘争になっている」と指摘。「家庭連合が解散されるような団体ではないことは信者の皆さんが一番分かっている」と激励した。
On the 8th, a symposium on religious freedom and basic human rights (sponsored by the West Tokyo Peace Ambassadors Council) was held in Musashino City, Tokyo, with about 100 people, mainly members of the Family Federation for World Peace Unification (formerly the Unification Church, the Family Federation), participating. In response to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's request to the Tokyo District Court for an order to disband the Family Federation, Yosuke Yokokawa (46), a second-generation member and Family Federation employee, emphasized that "(for believers) the church is their faith and their identity," and called for "raising our voices to protect our faith for future generations."
Norio Hosoya, a member of the Toride City Council in Ibaraki Prefecture, pointed out that "the issues surrounding the Family Federation have already become a political battle," and encouraged the group by saying, "The members of the Family Federation know better than anyone that the Family Federation is not an organization that can be dissolved."
