For the 2 months training in Hyo Jeong Youth Leadership Training (HJ YLT), Angelique Arias showed her sincerity and dedication in doing frontline mission. It may be changeling at time, to adjust with the weather, environment and culture here in the Philippines but going through this transition helped her to learn more about herself and to develop more her greater confidence to navigate the situation.

During her first month, she studied basic English language with the help of one of our YLT Staff, teacher Gerome Rabino. Angelique was able to learn English pronunciation, constructing sentences, reading and even writing a speech. One month is not enough, but we saw the improvement of her English communication.
On the other hand, from July 13 until July 17, 2022 Sun Moon UPA, in collaboration with the IAYSP and HJ YLT conducted the 5-Day Youth Leadership Training (Pilgrimage and Service Project) with the theme “Become the Light of the World with a Filial Heart for Heaven”. Around ninety participants including the staff, Sun Moon UPA and HJ YLT attended the event. Angelique was one of the participants and became a supporting staff in the following days of the activities. It’s advantage to her for speaking fluent Korean language so she can communicate well with Sun Moon UPA students.
During the first day, she had a chance to visit the holy ground established by True Father on September 22, 1965, in Luneta Park, Manila. She also visited Fort Santiago in Intramuros, one of Manila's most important historical sites. It was here that the memorabilia of Dr. Jose Rizal, one of the Philippine National Heroes of the Spanish Colonial Period, was well preserved.

They then went to Bonifacio Global City's Korean War Memorial Hall Museum. She also joined the brotherhood and sisterhood during the night. Angelique participated in service projects first at Kaytome-Gulod Elementary School, where a hundred students and teachers received school and office supplies. In addition, they repainted the nearby port, Brgy. Hall, and the school fence. They went to the International Peace Leadership College for a clean-up drive and donated paint supplies. She also joined the cultural night and witnessed the talents of our Sun Moon UPA cadets and Filipino second generation.

For her second month in HJ YLT, her next mission was the 21-Day Fundraising activity. They traveled in different parts of Calabarzon and NCR. She had a wonderful experience, through the ups and down during the frontline mission she learned to appreciate things and grateful for all the people that she met in the frontline.

Fundraising Activities
Last August 15-21, 2022, she joined the 5 Day witnessing course, together with the two second generation Malaysian brothers in Talim Island, Binangonan Rizal. It’s an hour boat ride to reach the island from the city. Lastly, she concluded her 2 months YLT training by attending 3 Day Workshop held on August 23-25, 2022 with the theme “Raise up young leaders armed with wisdom and practical experience to surpass their parent's filial heart for Heaven” at National Training Center, Antipolo City.

REFLECTIONS:
Fund raising Time: “It was 6 days that made me feel many things. There were happy times, but there were also painful and sad times. But I done without forgetting to always be grateful. One day, there was a day when I suddenly became afraid of FR.I was scared of people and places. Even so, I was able to appreciate it while thinking that it was a trial give by God. I always do fr with the feeling that I'm going to meet my brothers and sisters for the first and last time.I would like to do my best while being conscious of my internal goals without being caught external goal. I will continue to do my best from tomorrow, always remembering that I am walking together with True Parents, who are still working hard while shedding sweat and tears.” ~
YLT reflection: “I experienced FR and WS for the first time after YLT. And I was able to meet many people and get a lot of stimulation. Among them, the most deeply felt is the love of God through the brothers through the leader. Among them, the most deeply felt is the love of God, through the brothers through the leader. In the beginning, I couldn't speak English, so I felt lonely because I couldn't convey what I wanted to say. The leader always cared about me, and I was very happy that my brothers used simple English and gave me Japanese. felt great love. In fr I practiced loving, love the key chain, love the places, love the people. I didn't forget to be grateful even when it was hard. By doing so, I was able to feel that God was always with me. Another thing I felt was family love. When I was doing fr, I met someone who was shopping with family. At that time, I always remembered my family and wanted to see them again and again. When I returned to Japan, I also wanted to do a lot of filial piety and cherish the time I spent with my family. Only 2 months is very short, so I want to come back next time and train more and more. I will study hard now. Taos-puso akong nagpapasalamat sa mga pinunong sumuporta sa akin.”
